Boy with the Pearl Balaclava

Boy with the Pearl Balaclava

€50,000.00

Unamed herdboy (~14)

Herdboys start very young, often travelling by themselves with the herd into the mountains. There is a very traditional attire that herdboys in Lesotho wear: a Basotho blanket pinned on as a coat, gumboots and a balaclava with a heartshaped hole for the face. This boy has decorated his hat with some pins. Humberto spotted him from the car and leapt out to capture this stunning portrait, with the blue mountains behind completing this uniquely Basotho scene.
