M’e Maneo brought us to see her neighbour’s house, which could not be more different. Maneo has an ACE 1, and her house is painted bright blue on the inside. M’e Masakia still uses a traditional paola stove (something like a big tin can with holes roughly punched in) and the smoke fills the house around us. Inside Masakia’s house, Maneo perched awkwardly on a stool, enveloped by the dancing smoke. We were all glad to go outside again quickly afterwards.
